The nation’s top 2020 tight end — 5-star Georgia native Arik Gilbert — announced his commitment during a ceremony on Wednesday evening.

The Marietta High School star announced he’d be joining the LSU Tigers for the 2020 season and beyond. Gilbert chose LSU over Georgia, Clemson, Alabama and Texas A&M.

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Gilbert is the No. 10 player nationally, the No. 1 tight end in the 2020 class and the No. 2 overall recruit from the state of Georgia.

The Tigers now have 24 players in their 2020 class. Prior to  Gilbert’s commitment, the Tigers’ class ranked No. 4 in the nation and No. 2 in the SEC, per 247Sports.
