Florida will be hoping to knock off a heavily-favored Alabama team for the SEC Championship title on Saturday. It will come a week after it fell to LSU in Gainesville in its final regular-season game of the year.

The Tigers have beaten out the Gators again, and this time it’s come on the recruiting trail. Four-star defensive end Bryce Langston announced his college destination on Twitter on Friday, and he will be leaving the Sunshine State to play for Ed Orgeron and LSU.

Langston, the No. 12 strongside defensive end in the country and the No. 22 player in Florida, starred at Vanguard High School in Ocala, 45 minutes from Gainesville. So this was a pledge that practically came out of the backyard of the Gators.

In the Tigers’ defense, they have won a national championship more recently than the Gators, and things like this happen all the time across the country. Still, Dan Mullen and his staff are hoping that missing out on Langston doesn’t end up haunting them in the end.
