To start the season, it was the Miami Dolphins who allegedly had a “Tank for Tua” campaign in search of drafting Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa. That quickly went away with two wins. Now the Cincinnati Bengals are in line for the first pick.

That caused a Bengals fan to make the sign “Let’s Grow with Joe,” ahead of their game with the Pittsburgh Steelers in reference to LSU QB Joe Burrow.

If that comes true, the Bengals would likely get an influx of ticket sales in Burrow’s hometown of Athens, Ohio, where he is a local legend. It’s less than a three-hour drive between Athens and Cincinnati.

Along with his record-setting season and eye-popping 78.9 completion percentage, which leads the country, NFL observers have noticed his leadership and ability to change the culture at LSU from a defensive-first team that lacked a top-shelf QB.

Of course, it will likely come down to the Bengals choosing a position to pick first, and no doubt Ohio State pass rusher Chase Young would be an enticing prospect at the top alongside Burrow.

As Burrow keeps playing on the national stage and the SEC Championship Game, he’ll get tested by elite defenses and NFL fans and scouts will get a better grasp of where he may fit best.
