The LSU Tigers moved on from AD Joe Alleva on Wednesday, announcing he was transferring into a different role with the university.

The Tigers quickly made their move, landing AD Scott Woodward from Texas A&M, who happens to be a Baton Rouge native.

As rumors were swirling about Alleva’s departure on Wednesday afternoon, Paul Finebaum said on his show that he doesn’t exactly think Alleva will be missed at LSU (via 247Sports):

“A lot of people think it’s long overdue,” Finebaum said as he opened his Wednesday broadcast. “This is a guy that’s personally bungled more events than I can even put into words, starting with the Les Miles firing then bringing him back. He flat-out blew the Jimbo Fisher negotiation. He blew the Tom Herman negotiation. He embarrassed the commissioner of the SEC in the tete-a-tete with Florida a couple of years ago after the storm, and those are just things we can talk about.

“Rarely have I seen a report of someone’s demise cheered on more than this one. I think, for those that have watched this show in the past, Joe Alleva was not a very popular man in Baton Rouge.”

Indeed, many Tiger fans feel the same way about Alleva, so it’s no surprise the celebration was on when the news was announced.

Will Woodward end up being more popular? We’ll find out over the next couple of years.
