Next year’s game between LSU and Mississippi State will have some extra spice after the Tigers lured a second commitment from the Bulldogs’ class. This time, Ed Orgeron’s program lured WR Malik Nabers away as the Louisiana native signed with the Tigers.

Nabers is a 4-star prospect from Youngsville (Southside) and is listed at 6-feet, 190 pounds. He is the No. 8 player in Louisiana and the No. 42 wide receiver in the 2021 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He had a reported 32 offers.

Nabers told Jerit Roser and other reporters that it was a tough decision that came down to this morning. He talks with friends at LSU like Kayshon Boutte, Derek Stingley and T.J. Finley about building something special in the home state and talked with his family about staying close to home, which won out.

Nabers didn’t play his senior season because he transferred this past summer from Comeaux High to Southside High, and had a waiver denied by the LHSAA for him to be eligible to play his senior season, Geaux247 reported.

Nabers is the second player to flip from Mississippi State to LSU, as he joined JUCO linebacker Navonteque Strong. Nabers is the second wide receiver to pledge to the Tigers today, as he joined St. Thomas More tight end/wide receiver Jack Bech.
