LSU head coach Ed Orgeron may be getting ready to replace his offensive coordinator.

Tight ends coach Steve Ensminger may replace Matt Canada as LSU’s OC soon after the Tigers’ Citrus Bowl game against Notre Dame on Jan. 1, according to a report from The Daily Advertiser.

The newspaper cited its “contacts at LSU” and said Orgeron and Canada haven’t completely “mended” fences.

Orgeron has reportedly been leaning toward Ensminger as Canada’s replacement for several weeks.

After being reminded by a reporter of a dispute with Canada over the Troy game — which LSU lost 24-21 on Sept. 30 — Orgeron made sure to remind everyone who’s in charge.

“Well, I’m the head coach. We’re going to do what I want to do,” he said.

“I think the offense has done what we want to do,” Orgeron continued. “I think it’s been good. For us to win nine games and go 6-1 after the Troy game, I think things have been great.”

He apparently didn’t have any comments on Canada’s future at LSU, but The Daily Advertiser noted that at one point in the season, Canada was heard by players at practice saying, “It’s not my offense.”

It certainly seems a change is inevitable.
