Former LSU general manager Austin Thomas is reportedly speaking to multiple SEC teams about potential jobs.

Ole Miss may be the most likely destination, according to a report from FootballScoop.

Reports in mid-December indicated that Thomas was leaving LSU to join Jeremy Pruitt’s staff at Tennessee.

That deal ended up falling through, and Thomas was left without employment.

“Word in the profession is that many SEC programs have had conversations with Thomas, wondering if it would be possible to bring Thomas in to strengthen their programs,” the FootballScoop report said. “Facilitating many of these conversations, we’re told, is CAA (better known as Jimmy Sexton’s firm – although Jimmy doesn’t own the place).”

Thomas is not represented by an agent.

Apparently there are several other SEC schools that “feel like something could work” with Thomas. However, Ole Miss seems to be closest to working something out.

“At this time we are told there is not an actionable offer on the table, but the sides have had significant discussions and more than one source tells FootballScoop there is an expectation a deal could be reached,” the report noted.
