The LSU Tigers are set to host Nicholls on Saturday afternoon, but they’ll have to do so without a key player.

Earlier this week, coach Will Wade said he expected to be without a “major piece” for this game, and that is reportedly coming to pass.

Per Sheldon Mickles of The Advocate, star point guard Javonte Smart will miss the matchup with the Colonels:

Through 5 games this year, Smart is averaging 15.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.

Not having him running the offense will make things more difficult for LSU’s other playmakers. Can the Tigers avoid a massive upset against Nicholls? Tune in to the SEC Network at 2 p.m. Eastern time to find out!
