LSU will have one less defensive back now as sophomore Kenan Jones has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal, per Matt Zenitz. Jones, slated at safety, hasn’t appeared on the two-deep depth chart so far this season and had yet to put up any stats.

Out of Berwick, La., Jones was a 4-star recruit and a member of the Tigers’ 2018 signing class. He committed to the Tigers on May 13, 2017. He chose LSU over Florida State, Oregon and Ole Miss, among others.

Jones is the second player to leave Ed Orgeron’s team this week as running back Lanard Fournette, the brother of Leonard Fournette, decided to depart because he “just wants to move on with his life.”

The Tigers sit at 4-0 on the season and face Utah State on Saturday in Baton Rouge before a tough slate that includes No. 10 Florida, No. 7 Auburn and No. 1 Alabama comes along for the Bayou Bengals.
