Coming off a national championship and Heisman Trophy-winning season, the man to fill the shoes of Joe Burrow at LSU will have plenty of eyes on him this season. Myles Brennan is fine with that, and is especially excited about LSU’s offense this season.

The Tigers’ QB told Reggie Chatman Jr. of WBRZ that the playbook reminds him of plays he ran in Mississippi when he rang up a host of records in high school.

“I feel really, really, really comfortable with the whole playbook,” he said. “It reminds me so much of what I did in high school in terms of RPOs, and having that run-pass option and throwing the ball down the field. To just really put the ball in our playmakers’ hands and let them go make plays is the biggest thing. So I’ve felt very comfortable up until this point with the playbook and where we stand and where we’re headed.”

Brennan has seen action in 17 games for the Tigers, and completed 42-of-70 passes for 600 yards and two TDs

From Long Beach, Mississippi, Brennan holds the Mississippi high school career records for total offense (16,168 yards), passing touchdowns (166) and passing yards (15,138). As a senior, he completed 275-of-399 passes for 3,982 yards with 48 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions. He did not record an interception until the postseason of his senior season.
