WATCH: LSU fans weren’t too happy with how College GameDay started Saturday morning

Well, that was an odd start.
College GameDay visited Austin Saturday morning for the first time in 10 years. To open the show, Texas’ Silver Spurs fired their cannon “Smokey” through Joe Burrow’s uniform.
Here’s the video:

LSU media and fans thought that was rather odd and disrespectful start:
Did Gameday just start with….a cannon shooting through a Joe Burrow jersey?

Did they just shoot a Joe Burrow jersey with a cannon?

They really just shot Joe Burrow’s jersey. Someone tell him. Did they not learn anything about messing with Joe?

Player does the upside down shocker = Texas petitions the governor for a law banning it. Shoot cannon through LSU QB jersey = nbd

Texas is a bunch of hypocritical cry babies! Don’t do horns down, that’ll hurt my feelings! But yea let’s shoot a cannon through a Burrow Jersey!! https://t.co/uEqKrzeIcQ

"Ol Smokey" Cannon Shooters, thank you for your support of LSU Athletics (since you bought that jersey). https://t.co/oSRIjyhrli

I’m confused.
I can’t do the “horns down” symbol because it’s taunting or disrespectful…
But you can blow a cannon thru the chest of my QB’s jersey?— GeeGee (@LSUGeeGee) September 7, 2019
