LSU coach Will Wade was surprised when his name was brought up during a federal conspiracy trial against former Adidas executives and sports agent Christian Dawkins on Tuesday.

A day after the trial, Wade appeared on SEC Network shortly before taking the podium at SEC Media Days to address the situation.

“I don’t want to react to what a defense attorney said yesterday,” Wade said on SEC Network. “I’m very proud of everything I’ve done as the LSU basketball coach, and I have never, ever done any business of any kind with Christian Dawkins.”

A defense attorney presented a recording of a conversation between Wade and Dawkins in which they talked about 2019 recruit Balsa Koprivica.

Wade was hired to be LSU’s coach in March 2017. This is the second time this year that his name has been brought up as part of an investigation into recruiting.

Dawkins is among the group being charged with wire fraud and conspiracy to send money from Adidas to top recruits.

There should certainly be more information from this investigation coming in the near future.
