Mississippi State has filled the final slot on its 2020 schedule. The New Mexico Lobos will be coming to Starkville on Sept, 5, 2020. UNM made the announcement Friday.

The New Mexico game will serve as the season-opener (as well as home-opener) for 2020. It should help Joe Moorhead’s squad get ready for a Week 2 road trip to take on NC State in Raleigh. The other two non-conference games for the 2020 season are Tulane (Sept. 26) and Alabama A&M (Nov. 21), both at home.

New Mexico is guaranteed $1 million to make the trip to Starkville. The Lobos will receive an allotment of 3,000 tickets. The school has uploaded and shared the game contract, which appears to have been drafted in September and signed in November of last year. It can be viewed here.

Dates have not yet been announced for the eight SEC games, including Kentucky and Missouri in the cross-division slate, MSU will play in 2020.
