Mississippi State’s 2021 recruiting class got a boost on Monday with the addition of the top JUCO inside linebacker.

Forest, Mississippi native Navonteque Strong announced his pledge to the home-state Bulldogs on his Twitter account. The Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College standout is rated 3-stars, the No. 1 inside linebacker and No. 7 JUCO prospect according to 247Sports. Strong, who played high school football at Scott Central, had 9 other offers, including South Carolina, Washington State and Colorado.

Gulf Coast head coach Jack Wright told Paul Jones of 247Sports what MSU fans can expect to see on the field from the newest Bulldog commit.

“He’s a force in the middle and goes tackle to tackle,” Wright said. “The part of his game that is different from traditional middle linebackers is he’s a really good blitzer. And last year in important games, he ended the other team’s chances to win by getting a sack.”

Strong is the second Gulf Coast product of the class to pledge to Mike Leach’s squad. Last month, 3-star cornerback Cortez Eatmon committed to the Bulldogs.

With Strong onboard, the Bulldogs now have 10 players committed in the class of 2021. His highlights can be viewed below via Hudl:
