Mississippi State beat rival Ole Miss in dramatic fashion at the SEC Tournament on Tuesday night.

Down to their final out, the Bulldogs got a walk-off home run from Connor Hujsak in the bottom of the 9th inning to win the game, 2-1.

Here’s video of Hujsak’s home run to end it:

Although Hujsak was the hero with this 2-run blast, the Bulldogs owe a lot to starting pitcher Brooks Auger for keeping them in the game. Auger allowed just 1 run over 8 stellar innings of work. He faced 26 batters (2 over the minimum for 8 innings), allowed 3 hits, walked 0 and struck out 13.

The win means Mississippi State will advance to face Texas A&M in the SEC Tournament on Wednesday evening. By winning a first-round game, the Bulldogs have now entered the double-elimination portion of the tournament.

This result also ends Ole Miss’ season. The Rebels went just 11-19 in SEC play this season and finished with an overall record of 27-29, making them ineligible for an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament.

Mississippi State is in the mix to potentially host a regional in the NCAA Tournament, especially if it continues to stack wins in Hoover. The Bulldogs entered the week at No. 17 on D1Baseball’s Field of 64 projection.

Mississippi State will have a tough task ahead against Texas A&M. The Aggies earned a first-round bye after finishing second in the SEC West this season. The Aggies took 2-of-3 from Mississippi State in a College Station series during the regular season.

Mississippi State is an underdog against the Aggies on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs are priced at +145 to win, according to the latest odds from DraftKings. Texas A&M is -190.
