Leading up to gameday on Aug. 28, our in-house uniform expert Brad Crawford will look at every SEC team’s apparel plans this season. Some programs are incorporating new alternates while others have made subtle alterations to helmets. We have our favorite looks and we’re sure you do as well.

Here’s a team-by-team glance at what you’ll see this fall:

MISSISSIPPI STATE BULLDOGS (ADIDAS)

  • 2014 HOME: Maroon helmet + maroon jersey + white pants OR Maroon helmet + maroon jersey + maroon pants
  • 2014 ROAD: Maroon helmet + white jersey + white pants OR Maroon helmet + white jersey + maroon pants
  • 2014 ALTERNATE: Maroon helmet + maroon jersey + white pants — In this year’s season opener against Southern Miss, the Bulldogs will debut an altered maroon on white set to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Scott Field. Striped shoulders, a ‘Hail State’ wordmark across the chest and a large shoulder patch make this traditional look appear somewhat modern.

UPDATED: The original MSU commemorative uniforms have been axed, and you can see the changes right here.

  • WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE: More special edition Egg Bowl unis! Defined by a gold helmet, last year’s maroon threads with gold accents were some of Mississippi St.’s best and resulted in a Thursday night victory over Ole Miss.
