Vanderbilt QB Kyle Shurmur got some playing time as a freshman and has been the Commodores’ starter for the past three years.

He keeps plugging away, putting up solid numbers and flying under the radar both in the SEC and nationally.

As the Missouri Tigers prepare to host Vanderbilt on Saturday, coach Barry Odom joked that it seems like Shurmur has been around since Odom was playing linebacker at Mizzou:

To be fair, Shurmur has been around in Nashville longer than Odom has been the head coach at Mizzou. Odom has never lost to Vanderbilt as a head coach, and he’ll need to continue that streak this year.

The Tigers can clinch a bowl berth with a win on Saturday, but they can’t take Shurmur lightly, as he can put up big numbers against an up-and-down Mizzou secondary.
