Charles Harris explains what Miami Dolphins fans keep asking him to do
Former Mizzou OLB/DE Charles Harris has been one of the SEC’s best pass rushers the past two years, but now he’ll rack up sacks on Sundays.
The first-round pick of the Miami Dolphins (No. 22 overall) has started getting acquainted with his new teammates and fans as he prepares for his first professional season this fall.
According to the Palm Beach Post, Harris said his new fanbase really wants him to go after New England Patriots QB Tom Brady
“Shout out to all the Miami Dolphins fans,” Harris said at his introductory news conference Friday. “They’ve been telling me over and over, ‘You’ve got to hit (Tom) Brady.’”
That, of course, is easier said than done. Brady only took 15 sacks in 12 regular-season games last year (though he was taken down nine times in three postseason contests).
Still, Harris and the Dolphins will get two cracks at Brady each year, as the Dolphins and Pats both play in the AFC East.
Getting pressure on Brady will be a huge key if the Dolphins want to pull off an upset or two this season and shake up the division standings. As the team’s first-round pick, Harris will be counted on to provide a lot of that pressure.
