Eli Drinkwitz gladly announced extensions for offensive coordinator Kirby Moore and defensive coordinator Blake Baker on Thursday.

The 2 assistants have had good starts to their tenure in Columbia. Moore coached the Missouri offense that averaged the 5th-most yards per game in the SEC this season. The Tigers averaged 442.9 yards per game.

The former Fresno State assistant has made quite the impression in Columbia. He coached players like Brady Cook, Luther Burden, and Cody Schrader.

On defense, Baker re-signed with the program after leading what was the 4th-ranked group in the SEC with 347.2 yards allowed per game. It’s clear that both Baker and Moore played a big part in Missouri’s 10-win season in 2023. Baker was an assistant at LSU, Miami and Louisiana Tech before coming to Missouri where he coached players like Joseph Charleston.

Now that the key assistants are locked down, the team can focus on its bowl game with Ohio State. The Tigers and Buckeyes meet for the 1st time since 1998 in the Cotton Bowl on Dec. 29.
