Former Mizzou guard Brett Rau lands grad assistant job with MAC program
Former Mizzou G Brett Rau was a popular player for the Tigers during his two years coming off the bench for the team.
Now, he’s trying to break into the world of basketball coaching, and he’s off to a good start. After spending a year with the Dallas Mavericks as a player development intern, Rau is moving back to the college ranks.
Per a tweet from his account, Rau has been hired by John Groce’s staff at Akron as a graduate assistant:
Beyond blessed to say I’ll be joining @ZipsMBB as a Graduate Assistant next year. Thank you to Coach @JohnGroce for the opportunity to be a part of this great program. #GoZips #1Akron pic.twitter.com/KUOSghfMxA

Groce is the former Illinois coach who is now with the Zips. Last year, he led the program to a record of 17-16 and an 8-10 mark in MAC play.
Rau will spend this season in Akron and from there, we’ll see what the future holds for the former Tiger.
