The first big SEC coaching move of the season has happened quickly as Missouri has announced the firing of defensive coordinator DeMontie Cross. The move comes after the Tigers dropped their second game of the season to South Carolina at home by a score of 31-13.

Barry Odom had taken more control over the Missouri defense last season after the Tiger defense struggled mightily during the first half of his debut season as the head coach in Columbia.

The Tigers defense ranked No. 12 in the league in scoring after allowing 31.5 points per game last season and have already allowed an average of 37 points per game after two games this season.
