Missouri will start fall camp in Columbia with some missing depth at receiver coach Barry Odom announced Tuesday during his first press conference of the 2017 season.

Odom revealed the indefinite suspension of true freshman O’Shae Clark due to a violation of team rules. A native of Cyrus, Texas, Clark was a Class 6A All-State First Team selection during his senior year of high school football after registering 70 catches for 1,736 yards and 18 touchdowns.

“O’Shae Clark has been suspended indefinitely for team violation,” Odom revealed Tuesday.

Clark won’t be the only omission from the Tigers receiving unit, as fellow true freshman Da’Ron Davis has failed to qualify to the University. Rated as a four-star prospect by ESPN and Rivals, Davis was the first commitment of Missouri’s 2017 recruiting class. According to Odom, the Missouri native will attempt to find a landing spot in junior college.

“Da’Ron Davis, academically, didn’t meet his requirements to be NCAA eligible,” Odom said. “We are working with him to find the right fit (at junior college) and get him back here as soon as possible.

“I’m very disappointed, as he is and his family, on coming up short there but we have a great plan on getting him back and we will continue to stay in close contact/relationship with him — to get him back here as quickly as possible.”

Clark and Davis were the only two receivers signed by the Tigers in the 2017 recruiting cycle.
