Mizzou is rebuilding its defense as coach Eli Drinkwitz and DC Steve Wilks prepare for the 2022 season.

On Monday, the Tigers snagged a commitment from a grad-transfer linebacker/edge rusher out of North Carolina.

As you can see below, former Tar Heel Tyrone Hopper announced via Twitter that he was committing to the Missouri program for the 2022 season:

Hopper will be entering his seventh and final year of eligibility at the collegiate level. He suffered a season-ending injury in the Tar Heels’ 2021 season-opener after recording only 2 tackles.

In 2020, he recorded 27 tackles, 2 sacks and 2 pass breakups while appearing in 10 games. He figures to be part of the Tigers’ defensive line rotation this coming year, bringing plenty of experience to the table.
