Nathaniel Peat suffered a costly fumble at the goal line on a 19-yard run during Missouri’s first possession of overtime at Auburn.

Auburn went up 3 points on the first drive of overtime, and Mizzou tried to answer and appeared to as Peat scampered down the left sideline. But as he reached the goal line, Peat appeared to switch the ball to his right hand, and on the transfer, he lost control. The play was reviewed after the officials called it a fumble on the field, and it was confirmed by review, which ended the game, and Auburn won 17-14.

It was a heartbreaking loss for Mizzou, which had a chance to win on a late field goal attempt of just 26 yards by Harrison Mevis, but the otherwise reliable kicker had the attempt sail wide right, and that miss forced overtime.
