Missouri racked up an incredible 815 yards of offense in its season opener against Missouri State on Saturday.

Those 815 yards, according to SEC Communications Director Chuck Dunlap, were the second-most in a single game in SEC history. Mizzou went on to win 72-43.

The Tigers’ offense appears to be as good as it was cracked up to be coming into the season. The defense, however, may be another story.

Mizzou had the SEC’s No. 5 scoring offense in 2016, in addition to being No. 1 in the conference in total yards. The Tigers’ highest yardage total last season was against Tennessee when they put up 740.

The Mizzou offense put up over 600 yards on three other occassions. Today’s 815-yard mark sets quite a standard for this season.
