The Missouri Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs met in Athens last Wednesday night, with the Tigers routing the Bulldogs 64-39.

This Wednesday night, they met in the opening game of the SEC Tournament in Nashville, with Mizzou as the No. 12 seed and Georgia as the No. 13 seed.

The game wasn’t pretty, with both teams playing a bruising style defensively and not making many shots, but ultimately, the Tigers were the ones who advanced to play No. 5 seed Auburn on Thursday, winning 71-61.

Mizzou PG Jordan Geist was the star of the game, scoring a game-high 30 points. Xavier Pinson added 13 points in the victory.

Key Georgia F Nic Claxton fouled out with three minutes left after scoring 11 points and grabbing six rebounds. Junior G Jordan Harris scored 26 points to lead the Bulldogs.

If the Tigers manage to beat Auburn on Thursday, they’ll advance to the quarterfinals, where No. 4 seed South Carolina awaits. Thursday’s game against Auburn tips off at 3 p.m. Eastern time and can be seen on the SEC Network.
