The 2025 Golden Spikes Award is still up for grabs, but the field of contenders is narrowing. On Sunday, USA Baseball revealed the full list of 25 semifinalists up for the honor.

A total of 8 players from the SEC led the way, while the ACC produced 7 total semifinalists. The Big Ten produced 4 semifinalists.

Only 2 programs produced multiple players on the list of semifinalists. Those programs are Florida State and Georgia Tech with 2 players each included.

Overall, programs currently within the SEC have produced 4 straight Golden Spikes winners. (Texas was in the Big 12 in 2022 when Ivan Melendez won the honor.) Oregon State’s Adley Rutschman in 2019 is the last player from a program currently outside of the SEC to win the award.

The finalists for the Golden Spikes Award will be released on June 4. The winner of the honor will be announced on June 21 on ESPN at 6:30 p.m. ET before the official start of the College World Series.
