Less than 24 hours after Alabama‘s 2026 season came to an end in the College World Series, the Crimson Tide made a key pickup for their 2027 roster. A standout pitcher is heading to Tuscaloosa to continue his college career.

Michael Senay committed to Alabama on Tuesday. He joins the Tide after an impressive freshman season at USF. Senay’s USF bio lists the right-hander as measuring 6-2 and 200 pounds.

As a freshman, Senay was USF’s Saturday starter. He was the staff’s top arm, throwing 81 innings over 13 starts, posting an ERA of 3.78.

Senay held opposing batters to a .233 average. He issued just 17 walks over 81 innings for an impressive 1.89 walks-per-9 rate. Senay struck out 55 batters, for a K-BB ratio of 55-17.

In his debut season, Senay collected numerous accolades. He was twice named the American Conference’s Pitcher of the Week in March, as well as Perfect Game’s national Pitcher of the Week on March 24. Senay made the American Conference’s All-Freshman Team and was named a Freshman All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
