You couldn’t have written it any better. Dalton Bargo just tied things up in Knoxville with a cinematic solo home run to left field, just before a massive downpour and subsequent weather delay in Knoxville. Tennessee and No. 10 Auburn made the decision soon after to suspend the remainder of Game 2 until Sunday at 1 p.m.
Here’s a look at Bargo’s game-tying home run, the one that gives Tennessee a chance to avoid yet another series loss:
Tennessee just continues to do Tennessee things.
The Volunteers did not start Saturday on a high note. Since Friday night’s game was delayed due to weather, the Vols and Tigers had to finish early Saturday afternoon. The Vols failed to get enough offense going and eventually fell 6-1.
And it looked like the Tigers were just going to keep the party rolling early in Game 2. Auburn posted a pair of runs in the 1st inning before Tennessee finally fought back and scored a pair of their own in the 3rd inning thanks to the bat of Hunter Ensley. Bargo has done the rest, working a sacrifice fly in the 7th inning and the above home run to tie it.
