Georgia baseball won the SEC regular season title on Saturday. The Bulldogs celebrated on Sunday by thrashing LSU to secure a series sweep over the struggling Tigers, 12-1.
Daniel Jackson led the party. He beat LSU by himself, recording a pair of hits with a home run, 4 RBIs and 2 runs. His 25th home run of the season, seen below, was a no doubter:
“If the Golden Spikes winner can be underrated, that’s Daniel Jackson,” Bulldogs pitcher Caden Aoki said.
Aoki had a strong outing himself. The grad transfer threw 5 innings, allowing 4 hits and just 1 earned run while striking out 7 batters. New Orleans transfer Bryce Calloway came on in relief, his Georgia pitching debut, and struck out 2 batters with 1 allowed hit. Joe Nottingham brought Georgia home to complete the run-rule victory.
The Bulldogs are now a steaming 41-11 overall and 21-6 in conference play. Georgia takes a 9-game winning streak into their final SEC series of the regular season against Auburn, which starts on Thursday.
