Dave Horn has been the baseball coach at Arkansas since 2003, and on Monday, he signed an extension that will have him in Fayetteville through the 2031 season.
The new deal replaces the deal that he signed in 2021. His salary will now be $2.1 million, and there are plenty of incentives based on postseason success and on whether he is still the manager throughout the entirety of his contract.
Van Horn is set to enter his 25th season as the coach for the Razorbacks, and his 39th overall as a head coach at a four-year institution. Before Arkansas, he was at Central Missouri State, Northwestern State, and Nebraska. During his time at those schools, he has 1,345 wins, which is the most among current active coaches.
His best season was in 2018, when the Razorbacks made it all the way to the College World Series championship before losing to the Oregon State Beavers.
For the Razorbacks, consistency has been a huge part of the program since 1970. Van Horn is one of two coaches since then, with Norm DeBryin being the coach from 1970-2002. The two coaches have combined for 2,135 wins and 12 appearances in the College World Series.
