Morris joins Florida after a standout freshman season at Oregon State. He pitched in 16 games for the Beavers, making 8 starts. Morris was named a Freshman All-American by Perfect Game and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
In 59 innings, Morris recorded 67 strikeouts and held opponents to a .166 batting average. He finished with a sub-2.00 ERA (1.98) and finished first nationally in WHIP at 0.83.
Morris figures to be a weekend arm in the Florida rotation. While SEC Pitcher of the Year Aidan King returns, No. 2 starter Liam Peterson is a projected first-round pick in the upcoming MLB Draft and No. 3 starter Russel Sandefer is also participating in the draft combine.
