Florida lands commitment from Oklahoma transfer OF

After entering the transfer portal, an Oklahoma outfielder has found a new home with another SEC team. Drew Dickerson is heading to Florida.

Dickerson shared the big news in a post on social media.

Originally from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Dickerson heads from OU to UF after two seasons. He played in 62 games for the Sooners.

In 2026, Dickerson played in 35 games, making 22 starts. Over 89 at-bats, Dickerson slashed .281/.506/.387, collecting 21 RBIs. He had 25 hits on the season, also reaching base on 12 walks and 4 HBPs.

As a freshman, Dickerson saw fewer ABs but slashed slightly better at .303/.427/.561. Playing 27 games with 17 starts, Dickerson had 15 RBIs in th 2025 campaign.

Dickerson’s decision to transfer to Florida follows the recent hire of an assistant coach from Oklahoma’s national championship staff by Kevin O’Sullivan. Though not officially announced, Todd Butler has updated his X account to reflect that he has joined the UF baseball team. Butler, an OU alum who returned to Oklahoma in 2024, will reportedly be Florida’s new hitting coach.

Dickerson entered the portal on June 24, days after OU won the College World Series.
