Georgia will start JT Quinn in its elimination game against Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon, according to a report.

That’s per Anthony Dasher, who covers the Bulldogs for UGA’s Rivals affiliate. First pitch from Athens is set for 12 p.m. local time on Sunday as Georgia baseball looks to stave off elimination for another day.

On paper, Quinn is a sensible choice to get the start for this game. While often serving as a reliever this year, Quinn has started 6 games for the Bulldogs this year and has put up excellent numbers. He owns a 2.25 ERA and has struck out 43 batters in just 35 innings of work. Opponents have hit just .174 against him this season.

Starters Leighton Finley and Brian Curley have already pitched this weekend, meaning they’re likely to be unavailable for the rest of the regional.

Georgia is in this situation because it fell to Duke 6-3 on Saturday. Should the Bulldogs beat Oklahoma State to stave off elimination, they would then have to defeat Duke twice — once on Sunday, once on Monday — to reach the Super Regional round.

Georgia is a slight favorite against Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon. Per BetMGM, the Bulldogs are -1.5 on the run line and -200 on the money line against the Cowboys.

First pitch is set for 12 p.m. ET.
