Georgia baseball wins SEC Tournament title for 1st time in program history
Georgia defeated Arkansas 11-1 on Sunday in Hoover, clinching its first-ever SEC Tournament Championship.
The Bulldogs, who also won the SEC’s regular-season crown, run-ruled the Razorbacks in just 7 innings on Sunday. They had an 8-0 lead after 3 innings before tacking on 3 more runs in the bottom of the 6th.

Paul Farley started on the mound for the Bulldogs, throwing 4 scoreless innings before giving way to the bullpen.
Offensively, Georgia was led by designated hitter Jack Arcamone. He tallied 2 hits and drove in 4 runs, including a 2-run homer in the bottom of the first inning. Arcamone also delivered a 2-run single in the 6th to help secure UGA’s mercy-rule victory.
Georgia is expected to be national seed in the NCAA Tournament and should be confirmed as a regional host on Sunday evening. The Bulldogs have one of the best rรฉsumรฉs in the nation after sweeping this year’s SEC championships.
This will be Georgia’s third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament under Wes Johnson. The Bulldogs will be looking to make it to Omaha for the first time since 2008, but first have to conquer the Regional and Super Regional rounds.
