After a thrilling 2-game series, the Georgia Bulldogs are going to Omaha.

Georgia won an instant classic against Mississippi State on Saturday at Foley Field, 13-12. Georgia jumped out to a big lead in Game 2 on Sunday, but Mississippi State battled back to take the lead in the bottom of the 8th frame.

Georgia, though, wasn’t done fighting. The Bulldogs scratched across a game-tying run in the top of the 9th and then won it in the 10th thanks to a 2-run homer from Daniel Jackson.

Mississippi State threatened in the bottom of the 10th, but Justin Byrd was able to strike out Jacob Parker with 2 on and 2 outs to secure the win.

While the path was anything but simple, the result is the same: Georgia is headed back to the College World Series thanks to an 11-9 win in Game 2.

It will be UGA’s first trip to Omaha since 2008. The Bulldogs will be among the favorites in Omaha as they look for their second National Championship in program history. Their first title came back in 1990.

The full schedule for the 2026 College World Series in Omaha is still to be determined.
