Jac Caglianone eliminated from Home Run Derby following rough start in Round 1

Former Florida star Jac Caglianone finished strong but was unable to dig himself out of an early hole at the 2026 Home Run Derby in Philadelphia. The Royals right fielder posted 8 home runs in Round 1 after totaling just 1 home run across his first 8 swings, receiving pitches from his dad Jeff Caglianone.
Caglianone did eventually find his groove after a rough start, though. In addition to hitting 7 home runs across his final 13 swings, Caglianone hit this absolute monster shot to the third deck on swing No. 13:

Caglianone did not finish last among all contestants. His 8 home runs beat out Yankees power hitter Ben Rice, but fell short of the rest of the pack.
