Ole Miss infielder Judd Utermark swung his way into the program’s record books on Tuesday.
In the bottom of the first inning against UT Martin, Utermark hit a two-run home run to give the Rebels a 2-0 lead. It was the 49th of his career, setting a new program record.
Utermark entered the day with 19 home runs on the year, tied with Tristan Bissetta for the team lead.
The Charlotte native has provided plenty of pop in his bat over the past two seasons. He combined for seven home runs over his first two years. In 2025, his first as a full-time starter in the Ole Miss infield, he stroked 22 home runs, the second-highest season total in program history. With 20 for the season, he’s just four back from tying Tim Elko for the single-season record.
Utermark’s bat could prove useful in the SEC Tournament. The Rebels, currently seeded ninth in the league, wrap up the regular season at Alabama Thursday through Saturday. Ole Miss projects to be an at-large team at this point, with Baseball America’s bracketology on Tuesday putting it as the No. 2 seed in a potential Morgantown regional.
The SEC Tournament runs from May 19-24 in Hoover, Alabama.
