Ethan Surowiec was draft-eligible in 2026 after completing his sophomore season. With the dust settled on the 2026 MLB Draft, however, Surowiec is not heading anywhere.
On Sunday, he announced via social media that he’ll be back at Florida for the 2027 season.

Surowiec transferred to Florida from Ole Miss. In 2025, he appeared in 11 games for the Rebels, making 3 starts.
The 2026 campaign was a breakout season for Surowiec. Florida’s only 62-game starter (34 games at 3rd base, 28 games at 1st base), Surowiec slashed .317/.409/.528. He was UF’s top batter in hits (78), batting average (.317), RBIs (63) and total bases (130). Surowiec recorded 12 home runs and 14 doubles, both good for third on the team.
Surowiec and the Gators, however, aren’t happy with the way things ended for Florida in 2026. The Gators secured the No. 8 national seed for the NCAA Tournament, but could not take advantage of potential home-field in the Super Regional, dropping the Gainesville Regional with back-to-back losses to Troy.
