Michigan overwhelmed the scoreboard at Bill Davis Stadium on Saturday.

The Wolverines scored 16 runs in the top of the 4th inning against Ohio State. While one might expect it was the result of a hit parade for U-M, Michigan batters only recorded 4 hits. Buckeye pitchers walked 8 and put 5 more Wolverines on via hit by pitch.

The scoreboard in Columbus was unable to properly reflect the offensive output of the frame.

Michigan is fighting for a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The Wolverines entered Saturday with a 27-17 overall record and 11-10 mark in Big Ten play. Wednesday’s field of 64 projections from D1Baseball.com had Michigan as one of the “Four to Watch” behind the “First Four Out.”

U-M currently has an RPI of 54 with the No. 61 strength of schedule, per WarrenNolan.com. Unfortunately, beating Ohio State won’t do much for the resume. OSU has the No. 216 RPI.

Michigan will look to finish the regular season strong at Nebraska (No. 69 RPI) and at home against Indiana (No. 77 RPI).

As for Saturday in Columbus, it’s 21-0 in the 5th inning.
