A product of Santa Fe (Texas) High School, Williams was a freshman at Lamar in 2026. A left-hander, Williams is listed as measuring 6-feet and 170 pounds.
As a freshman, Williams logged 56.1 innings on the mound. He posted a 3.83 ERA with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 52-22 and 1.24 WHIP. He made 16 appearances across the season, including 12 starts.
One of Williams’ strongest outings came on April 19 against Northwestern State. He struck out a season-high 8 batters while giving up just 2 hits over 5 innings.
Perfect Game named Williams a midseason first-team Freshman All-American on April 1.
