The Tuscaloosa Regional will begin on Friday afternoon with a pair of opening round games.

Alabama earned the right to host a regional as it landed the No. 7 seed when the NCAA Tournament bracket was revealed on Monday. The Crimson Tide are also in line to host a Super Regional if they can take care of business this weekend.

Other teams included in the Tuscaloosa Regional are No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 3 USC Upstate and No. 4 Alabama State.

Alabama played Alabama State twice this season in a pair of mid-week games, both wins for the Crimson Tide. They won 2-1 on Feb. 18 and 13-4 on March 4.

Alabama starting pitcher vs. Alabama State

Alabama coach Rob Vaughn has confirmed that Tyler Fay will start for the Tide on the mound on Friday against Alabama State. Fay has struck out 104 batters this season and owns a 9-4 overall record. He did not face Alabama State during the regular season.

Alabama State will counter with Jorhan LaBoy. He was the ace for the Hornets this season, delivering a 4.52 ERA in 16 starts in 2026.
