Vandy out-hit Mizzou 14-8 in Saturday’s second game but needed a three-run rally in the 11th to clinch the victory. Ryker Waite belted a solo homer to right field and Logan Johnstone added a two-run single to make it 11-8, and Wyatt Nadeau (2-3) delivered a flawless bottom of the inning to earn the win.
Johnstone and Waite each had three hits in the win, while Mike Mancini, Tommy Goodin and Rustan Rigdon each added two hits for the Commodores. Blaize Ward, Donovan Jordan and Chris Patterson each notched two hits for Mizzou in the loss. Tigers reliever Trey Lawrence (2-2) absorbed the loss.
Missouri’s Donovan Jordan smacked a one-out single in the bottom of the 10th to drive in the winning run as the Tigers took the opener 8-7.
