A product of Maumelle High School in Arkansas, Ward is listed at 6-1, 185 pounds. As a freshman, the infielder appeared in 44 games, making 43 starts.

Ward posted one of the best true-freshman seasons in MU program history. He was named SEC Co-Freshman of the Week on April 6 and May 11.

At the plate, Ward slashed .296/.421/.404. In SEC play, Ward’s batting average increased to .323. His OBP of .404 is in part due to 15 walks and a team-high 14 HBPs.

Ward notched 45 hits on the season, including 10 for extra bases (4 home runs, 1 triple, 5 doubles). He collected 33 RBIs, the most driven in by a Mizzou true freshman since 2017 when Kameron Misner (34) and Chris Cornelius (31) each drove in more than 30 runs.
