The Bulldogs have been among the favorites to win the College World Series for weeks. They won the SEC’s regular season crown and then cemented their elite status with an SEC Tournament Championship in Hoover.
They’ll be tasked with facing an upset-minded Mississippi State team on the way to Omaha. The Bulldogs are 43-17 so far this season and went 16-14 in SEC play. Georgia and Mississippi State met in Starkville during the regular season with UGA sweeping the 3-game series.
