Alabama completes wild comeback, beats Tennessee in Knoxville
Alabama pulled off a come-from-behind victory in Knoxville on Saturday night, beating the Vols 71-69 in dramatic fashion.
Tennessee carried a 40-28 lead into the halftime break but it was the Crimson Tide who dominated the second half. A go-ahead jumper by Labaron Philon with 24 seconds left proved to be the difference as Tennessee was unable to tie the game on its final possession.
Here’s a look at Philon’s game-winner:
This is a huge win for Alabama as it moves to 12-4 in SEC play. The Crimson Tide have now won 8 straight games and appear to be on track for a top-4 seed in this year’s NCAA Tournament.
In addition to Philon, Alabama got a huge game from Latrell Wrightsell, who poured in 25 points in this victory. He went 6-of-9 from 3-point range and scored 14 points in the second half alone.
Alabama’s defense was excellent after the break, limiting Tennessee to just 13-of-35 (37.1%) from the floor in the second half. Tennessee was also 0-for-5 from 3-point range and made just 3 free throws in the second half.
Alabama has 2 regular season games remaining before the SEC Tournament. The Crimson Tide are hoping to make another Final Four run this year. Here are the latest Final Four odds on Kalshi from a variety of the nation’s top teams:
