Michigan will take on upset-minded Alabama in the Sweet 16 on Friday evening.
The Crimson Tide got to this point after back-to-back blowout wins over Hofstra and Texas Tech. However, the Wolverines will presumably provide a much tougher test as a No. 1 seed.

Here are a couple of DFS pick’em predictions via Underdog:
Labaron Philon Jr., Alabama: Higher than 22.5 points
Labaron Philon Jr. averaged just over 21 points per game during SEC play but there’s still good reason to take the high side of this projection. For one, Philon’s minutes have meaningfully ticked up during the NCAA Tournament, rising from 31 in SEC play to 35+ in both games last weekend. That’s despite both of those games being blowouts — I wouldn’t be shocked if Philon stays on the court for even more time against the Wolverines. Philon’s volume is also pretty consistent at 15+ field goal attempts per game and Aden Holloway’s expected absence should further entrench Philon as Alabama’s ball-dominant scoring threat. Michigan’s defense is excellent, but betting markets project the Tide to score 80+ points. Philon’s 30% usage rate indicates he’ll have plenty of opportunities to score 23+ points against Michigan.

Elliot Cadeau, Michigan: Higher than 12.5 points
Michigan’s coaching staff trusts Elliot Cadeau in a big way. His minutes and shot attempts in big games have consistently risen since LJ Cason went down with a season-ending injury in early March. Cadeau played 36+ minutes in the Big Ten title game against Purdue and in Michigan’s second-round game vs. a good Saint Louis team. Cadeau didn’t score 13+ points in either of those contests due to shaky shooting performances, but I like his chances to beat the 12.5-point projection against an Alabama back court that’s been shaky on defense at times this season.
