Amari Allen announces decision between NBA, Alabama for 2026-27 season
Amari Allen will return to Tuscaloosa for the 2026-27 season.
That news was confirmed by Yea Alabama on Wednesday evening. Allen went through the NBA Draft process this offseason to get feedback from pro evaluators, but maintained his college eligibility.
Ultimately, Allen decided to head back to Alabama for another season under Nate Oats:
Allen had until Wednesday to decide whether to remain in the NBA Draft or return to school.

His return is a big boost for Alabama’s postseason aspirations in 2026-27. As a freshman this past season, Allen averaged 11.4 points per game while shooting better than 34% from 3-point range.
Long-term, Allen has the size to be a productive two-way wing at the NBA level. If he’s able to show improvement in key areas as a sophomore, he could be a first-round pick in the 2027 NBA Draft.
Looking ahead to next season, Alabama returns guard Aden Holloway and has made several transfer portal additions this offseason such as former Kentucky center Brandon Garrison and former NC State forward Cole Cloer.
