The new AP men’s basketball poll was released Monday and the defending national champions are now back in the top spot.
With Purdue losing at Rutgers last week, Baylor is now No. 1. The Bears received all 61 1st-place votes.
Rounding out the top 5 are Duke, Purdue, UCLA, and Gonzaga.
Alabama, meanwhile, was the top SEC team in the poll, as Nate Oats’ team jumped to No. 6.
Joining the Crimson Tide from the SEC are Auburn at No. 13, Tennessee at No. 18, LSU at No. 19, Kentucky at No. 21, and Arkansas at No. 24.
