Caleb Mills is heading elsewhere for his final season of college basketball. The former Florida State and Houston transfer announced he would be entering the portal on March 30 after a dismal 9-23 season in Tallahassee.

According to CBS’ Jon Rothstein, Mills has received initial interest from at least 4 SEC programs: South Carolina, Arkansas, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt. Interestingly, he’s also heard from Houston about a potential reunion with the Cougars.

It’s important to note that this does not mean each school on the following list has necessarily offered Mills a spot on next year’s roster, but it does signify they are interested in having the conversation. It’s very likely that Mills will have official visits or in-home visits with one of these schools in the coming days/weeks.

Mills was Florida State’s top player from last season, averaging 13 points per game with 3 rebounds and assists per game on 41% shooting. It’s worth noting that last year was his worst year in terms of efficiency in the past 3 seasons, though that could have to do with the Seminoles’ overall struggle to score.

Defensively though, Mills is a pest. He averages 1.3 steals per game, closer to 1.5 across his career.
